Spending her afternoon getting in a bit of retail therapy, Katie Holmes went shopping out in New York City on Tuesday (July 9).

Accompanied by a couple of her gal pals, the "Teaching Mrs. Tingle" actress looked perfect for summer in a spaghetti strap blouse and skinny jeans.

In other news, although she was back in the city this afternoon, Katie recently enjoyed a small getaway with her daughter Suri in The Hamptons.

Enjoying some much-deserved mommy-daughter bonding time, the duo soaked up the sun on the beach and Suri even took a dip in the water with her friends.
