Randy Travis Undergoes Brain Surgery After Stroke
Just days after being admitted to the hospital with complications from viral cardiomyopathy, Randy Travis suffered another setback on Wednesday (July 10).
The country crooner had a stroke and underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain, according to his rep.
On Tuesday, Mr. Travis, who won multiple awards for his hits such as “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “Three Wooden Crosses” had a small pump placed to assist in stabilizing his heart.
A statement released through his representative read as follows: "As a complication of his congestive heart failure, Mr. Randy Travis has suffered a stroke and is currently undergoing surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. He is in critical condition. We will have updates as they become available. His family and friends here with him at the hospital request your prayers and support."
